Tour of Our Property
Palomar Mountain Ranch is one of the most scenic properties on the Mountain. It backs up to the State Park ensuring that you will always enjoy privacy and seclusion. Fences and gates add to feeling of being in the country. Paved roads wind through the meadows and orchards leading up to the house which is secluded in a grove of trees. All the land is usable and is equally divided into forest, meadow and orchard.
The heritage apple orchard was planted in the early 1900’s and continues to bear prolifically. The purchase of the ranch will include all of the equipment including tractors, trucks and implements necessary to maintain the current apple production. Apples are donated to the local one room school on Palomar Mountain and other charitable organizations. Students help to pick the apples and sell them at the local store.
Four Seasons
Each spring after the winter snows the pond is stocked with rainbow trout and kids of all ages catch and release their limit. A hiking or horse trail winds its way around the property. Amateur archeologists spend hours looking for pottery shards and arrow heads around the ancient grinding rocks.
The current owner tries to maintain the property as the early settlers found it in the late 1800’s. Some of their farm implements still remain on the property.
Community
The town at Palomar Mountain is a quaint and beautiful town isolated from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. Escaping to Palomar Mountain rejuvenates the spirit bringing about a feeling of tranquility and ease.
Palomar Mountain is famous for its observatory as well as Palomar Mountain State Park which neighbors our ranch! There is one general store and a restaurant in town but be warned, there are no gas stations so make sure to fill up before heading up the mountain.
